Has anyone adapted their 124 Spider to add power steering? I have a 1985 Pininfarina (Fiat) 124 Spider that requires two men and a mule to steer. I have been thinking of adding power steering by adapting the power steering components from some other car. Has anyone done this? If so, I would appreciate you telling me how you did it.

Re: Power Steering
it shouldn't be that hard to steer, this a problem if it is that hard, check the idler first it could be gummed up.
If you were to do power steer, the newer electric assisted system would be the way to go.

Re: Power Steering
1985 should have rack and pinion. My was a little stiff and missing the plastic/nylon bushing on the passenger end. I used grease to lubricate the rack, replaced the bushing and it was easier. I would check your steering u-joints for binding (mine was never that hard, just needed two hands until the above repairs where done).
