Hey all.
I've got two heads I'm trying to decide between.
Casting #'s are:
132AB9A 4277590
and
132C81A0 4371507
does anyone know if these both have the same size chambers? it'd save me cc'ing them.
Anyone know the chamber size of different heads?

Anyone know the chamber size of different heads?
I'm no Boy-Racer..... but if I can't take every on-ramp at TWICE the posted limit.... I'm a total failure!

Re: Anyone know the chamber size of different heads?
According to the Mirafiori.com web site FAQ, head number 132AB9A 4277590 is for a 1756cc '74-'76 124 Spider, Coupe, or Beta. The 1756cc heads generally have ~49cc chamber I believe. Head number 132C81A0 4371507 is listed as either 1585,1756, or 1995cc for a early or late 131/132 or a '80-'81 FI Spider. According to my information, the typical 1995cc chambers are ~53cc.maytag wrote:Hey all.

I have one of each of these heads, and have cc'd them at 49cc and 53cc as above.

Re: Anyone know the engine this cylinder heads came from?
I have a cylinder head that doesn't seem to have a numerical prefix...just these numbers and letters top row is v3, middle row is ef a small pyramid made of horizontal lines then 4371507, 3rd row has s62. Please help me identify this cylinder head. All references seem to have something like 124ac,132ac BUT I CAN'T FIND THAT TYPE OF NUMBER

Re: Anyone know the chamber size of different heads?
Several 1800 heads I measured had 47cc combustion chambers. Of course this depends on how much the head has been surfaced and how deep the valves are sunk. Two liter heads I measured were 53cc.

Re: Anyone know the chamber size of different heads?
The mirafiori.com reference was compiled through polling all of the heads we had and from what engine they came from. Funny but didn't this conversation already take place? Like in 2012...
The problem was most of us were not original owners...and head swaps were common even in warranty work. What we lack is a cross reference, FIAT to Lancia, and covering all FIAT years and models.
These are the heads fitted to the Spiders:
4166392, 4191155, 4220541, 4290399 = 1438cc
4240594, 4273826 = 1608cc
4304780 = 1592cc
4277587, 4372272, 4372290 = 1756cc
5881003, 5881125, 5881014, 5881125, 5881530 = 1995cc
It is common to have FIAT and Lancia heads swapped amongst cars, and the numbering system is almost identical. However each had has an indicator as to which complete engine it was fitted to - e.g. a "132" marking would put it on a 132 motor (1592, 1756, 1995). AB was an engine for a FIAT TC Special. 4277590 is the number that matters, it is the part number, and it wasn't original to a Spider. Neither was 4371507. Both are 1800 heads though.
