New brake lines routing suggestions

Post by SteveLandry »

I purchased a new set of hard brake lines for my 1970 Spider. The front-to-rear and left front lines are much longer than the old ones, which raises the question of how those of you who have replaced theirs have dealt with this issue. Before I get creative and start coiling the lines into springs, do any of you have photos to share of this adaptation? Yes, the splitter has been eliminated.

Why don't you cut what is too long and bubble flare the end?

I don't have the tool, but it may come to that. One reason I bought the set in the first place was because I didn't have the freaking tool! Aren't all 124 Spiders the same size?! Mine must be for the limo model.

hey Steve, I had never done them and it was surprisingly easy  You can also rent the flare kit from most auto places etc (remember they are metric flares and also ask for a line bender tool)

What does eliminating the splitter consist of? Been searching around and can't seem to find anything.
Thanks

Here are some bends I had to make as the rear ones were also longer than the originals.
