I hope someone can help me..I'm sorry for my English, but I'm Italian..
My 85 spider has a problem that is annoying, Sometimes,when I put 2nd or 4th gear and I slow down they jump out...If I increase speed they go fine, no problem.. Transmission redone 10000 miles away...Someone tell me that can be transmission mount..I don't know ...I hope I don't re done transmission again...anyone can help me to see what is the problem?thank you!

not the mount, it sounds like it has too much end play in the main shaft

This is a common problem with older transmissions - the synchronizers are worn on 2/4. You have to remove the transmission to repair this. Is it possible these were not serviced when it was last repaired?laura79 wrote:I hope someone can help me..I'm sorry for my English, but I'm Italian..

when you tranny was redone, did they replace the shift forks. If not, start there.

Thank you! I didn't do trasmission by myself, but mechanic told me that he had change everything... Is there something that i can do to check what the problem is, before to take off transmission? Thanks a lot.

You've already done it. If it is jumping out of gear then he did not replace "everything"

Something strange today...I went under car to see what are transmission condition,nothing wrong...then I took off shift leather boot to change inner boot...but I had not more time and I reassemble anything... then I drove the car and....second and fourth not push out but my fifth gear did...I had to push it and hold. It happened few times and then it work fine and for now second and fourth don't go out...
