Hose shut off question

Post by CharlieB »

The previous owner of my 76 Spider installed a shut off valve on the hose running to the heater core. I wanted to install a flush T to help with burping the cooling system. Is it safe to replace this valve with the T?
Here is a picture of the shut off valve. https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/B ... directlink

Thanks guys

Do you have a valve inside the car for the heater? If not the when you replace this with a fill T it will be on full heat all the time. Why did the PO put the shut off valve theŕe, a leak in the heater core, or to replace the original valve f that no longer is in the car? If eathere of these zthan you must take care of these fitst.

Thanks for the reply redcars. I just got this car a few days ago and its my first Fiat so I'm still trying to learn what I have. To answer your question, no, there is no valve inside the car. Just the valve from the photo. I think I will abandon the flush T idea for now. I now have more issues to deal with on this car (major engine problems). Thanks again
