Anybody order these and had them installed. What's the quality like?
The price is good but I am looking for a nice early set.
Also looking for good fitting new bumpers

The covers from world upholstery are very good. http://www.worlduph.com
New bumpers? They don't exist. Buy a set of used ones and have them re-chromed. If they are late, Spider 2000 bumpers, you should be able to find a few hundred sets of those on this website, as most of the weirdos here remove the bumpers from their car permanently, and install fishing boat lights in the holes.

Re: Vick auto seat covers?
I have seen new chrome bumpers and stainless steel ones for sale at several places eg. vicks and mr fiat. the chrome ones are cheaper but I read stories of them rusting quickly and one of the styles not fitting well. I guess I will buy the worlduph seat covers.
thanks
thanks

Re: Vick auto seat covers?
I have the upholstery set from Vick Autosports you are looking at.
I am thrilled with them.
They do require some skill to install them properly.
You will need hog rings and hog ring pliers, especially for the rear seat.
It is not easy to get all of the wrinkles out if you are not a skilled professional upholsterer. I attribute that, mainly, to the fact that the original seat foam shrinks and changes shape over the years, and the new covers are sized for "new" foam.
You can achieve pretty good results on your own, but just be warned that the end result will probably not be absolutely perfect -- and no fault of VAS.
My end results were not concourse-quality, but good enough to continuously get great positive comments by admirers at car shows, cars&coffee, and out and about on the street.

Re: Vick auto seat covers?
The wrinkles mainly come out over time as the upholstery cycles between hot and cold. Mine from World Upholstery were much worse when installed and look great now.

Re: Vick auto seat covers?
Steam is the answer to fitting upholstery on seats. Rent a steamer (for removing wallpapers) and adapt a 1/4 inch copper tube somehow. Inject the foam with the steam and walla! The wrinkles go away, and the foam in rejuvenated.
That's the short answer, but it is the professionals trick.

Re: Vick auto seat covers?
Pretty sure those Vick's seats are the World Upholstery seats. Not that its a bad thing.
Every "new" bumper I've seen is of low quality (rusts, thin, poorly fit) - but I'll admit I quit looking for bumpers a long time ago. I'd get an original set and have a chrome shop give them a good working over.

About 20-25 years ago, I bought some seats from International Auto Parts. They were World Upholstery, and lasted about 8 years of daily use.bradartigue wrote:Pretty sure those Vick's seats are the World Upholstery seats. Not that its a bad thing.

Re: Vick auto seat covers?
Well then there is no solution. Don't put bumpers on the car. It will look like a rejected body from the factory, like the car in the page header. So Cal Mark wrote:the last set of original bumpers I had rechromed cost me $1200 and they weren't perfect
