EU vs US ride heights

Post by silvadw »

Hi,
I have a US car in AUS. I would like to lower the car and wish to know the difference in ride height between the EU and US spec cars. I presume any of the shorter springs from the usual vendors deliver the EU height. Is this correct?
Thanks in advance

the Vogtland kits I carry will put the car at the Euro ride height, approximately 1 3/4" lower than the US height

Kings Springs (made in Qld) have a set a set of lowered front and rear springs for the Fiat 124 (Part No.KFFL60 & KFRL61) There are several distibutors here in Victoria ( http://www.kingsprings.com/default.htm )
This is how my Spider sits on them:

It may be a purely aesthetic argument, but I think there is a certain logic that dictates that the ride height is as it was intended when the curve of the wheel opening is concentric with the curve of the wheel. Curly's looks good.

However, all bets are off with an MG Midget or Lamborghini Countach....

put in the local springs from Curly's post.
different car; rear manages bumps better, sits flatter in corners, looks great, still a comfortable ride
