Float Bowl?

Post by TEYESpider »

My 79 spider always take a long time to start but always starts.

On my second replacement start. I recommend Alison's starter by the way. Much smaller, lighter, and more powerful.

I am wondering if I have a leaky float bowl. Does anyone have pictures of where this might be on the carb? I've removed some pieces but haven't figured out where this is.

Thanks!

the float bowl is part of the main body. If the bowl is getting emptied when the car sits, look at the accelerator pump diaphragm. That is the only spot the bowl can leak from other than a crack

. When you remove the air cleaner, you see 2 large round ports going into the manifold. Off to the side of these, you will see a large rectangular shaped section of the carb with no visual openings. This is the float bowl. You gain access to it by removing the top of the carb.
