Muffler suggestions?

Post by ga.spyder »

My Ansa muffler has finally bit the dust :( I have welded, patched, soldered, clamped and wired it for the final time! Any suggestions on a replacement with similar sound? I dont want to spend the money on a new Ansa.I feel they are way overpriced.I know Mark has had good results from a Magnaflow, but I cant seem to get the part number.I am doing commercial sales for a parts chain so if I can get a part number,I can get myself a wholesale price.So...what are you using? Thanks!

I've gotten away from Magnaflow. Hushpower has a great sound and not too loud

Mark,

do you have a part number for the muffler you speak of?

Thanks Mark.I will look into Hushpower. I see on your website that you are also using a Lawson Enterprises 'Insynerator'? I just dont want to get something that muffles that great Italian tone too much.Right now,the car sounds like a Civic with a coffee can muffler.I truly can barely stand to drive it!

4-2-1 iron manifold, stock twin downpipe, custom 2.25" exhaust pipe back to Flowmaster 952060, universal downturn tip. Click on image to play. As Mark suggests, the Flowmaster does tend to drone at highway speeds, but most of my cabin noise is from the intake.

I moved from MD to CA last year after 35 years in MD, so I got a little homesick when I saw your license plate. Nice car!!

I love the CHISAM exhausts AR sells. They fit and sound great.

Funny ... I get ill when I return to MD following Central Coast trips! It's like frikin' Borneo here this year; rain every other day. We had 126 "Spider-Quality" weather days here in 2014; we won't see half that number in 2015.
