does anyone know where to get a lighter conversion

In my 56 Chev which is the same as my Fiat lighter outlet I could not use a gps of charge my phone. I am looking for a conversion or replacement if anyone is aware of one? My Spider is 1974?

I thought all lighters are the same. I had picked one up from Ebay when they were under 10$. Auto Ricambi sells them as well. Make sure the wiring to the fuse box is of sufficient gauge, the original wiring back in 74 was not meant to carry a constant demand with today's electronic equipment. This generation has dropped cigarettes for Iphones and GPS.

lighters work straight off the battery/alt circuit, thus put out 12vdc. I looked at my cell phone charger and it say .5vdc. You are probably going to have to figure out a way to drop the volts.

Car phone chargers that plug into the cigarette lighter have circuit boards in them to provide the regulated 5 volts. If you have a standard phone charger for plugging into the cigarette holder, you should be fine. Only issues I've seen is if mechanically they are a sloppy fit, they don't make good contact with the ground connection on the side of the plug.
