Well, it was a hugely long trip down to FFO from Ottawa. 540 miles each way, with AriK having to drive about 600.
Three thunderstorms. Lots of stops, including one for breakfast and another long one for lunch. On the way down it took about 14 hours. On the way back with good weather all the way and just quick stops it was only nine.
It's awesome that we could all do it together.
Some of the highlights from the way down:

EDIT
And, a MUCH shorter video of the ride on the way back in the heat (3:45):

What a great experience. I was thrilled to share it with both of you. One thing is for sure, the words Fiat Spider and thunderstorms should never be used in the same sentence. Although I did feel a couple of Jeremy Clarkson moments, they seem to have appeared after we accidentally spoke aloud about how proud we are about or cars. I hold the Fiat Gods solely responsible. The cam cover gasket repair survived that blazing hot drive back to Canada. My starter solenoid issue has been resolved, it just took getting under there.
Detroit anyone?
Detroit anyone?

Gian,
(I got that right?)
Great video. You Jay and Ari make a great team. It was fun meeting you.
Who was the Canadian wing man early in the trip with that nice looking 69(?)
Our trip wasn't as exciting, no rain fortunately. We lost a fan belt on the way home but it was quickly replaced.
But man it was hot!

Re: Road Trip: FFO2015 video
It was great to meet you, Doug; thanks for sharing your chair and your conversation in the shade!
The gentleman in the '69 is SpiderDan. He joined us for the first leg of the trip.
Glad to hear you made it home safe and sound. Yes, it was VERY hot! The only issue was that at the very hottest point in the trip (around 3:30pm) and after the car had been on the freeway for six hours with only one stop two hours beforehand, my idle really dropped when I was stopped for a toll and I had to apply a bit of throttle to keep it happy. I figure fuel may have been vapourizing in the carb; it wasn't an issue at all as speed and never reappeared.
Anyhoo, here's a video about the heat on the return trip (much shorter - only 3:45).

Ack -- it got truncated at 3 mins because of flickr limitations.
I will upload the slightly longer version to Youtube later today.
