Rumors on line July 15, 2015 report that the 124 Spider may be revealed at the Los Angeles Auto Show November 20-29 with the 1.4MultiAir engine. An Abarth version with a 200 HP variant of the 1750 Alfa engine from the 4C would be introduced at the Geneva Auto Show March 3, 2016.

Me neither. Boxster flanks, Jag grille, Japanese scoops. NOTHING Italian about this design; no focus, no theme. Looks like somebody mixed boxes of puzzle pieces from several modern cars and had their child make something from them.

I'm sorry; given Fiat's design and manufacturing record with the 500, this has "Sterling" written all over it.

Ah Bernie, the Sterling. Who else remembers those British beauties. Screwing up a Honda is hard work.

Sterling made the official announcement that it was departing the U.S. market. It did so in good humor, with a full-page ad announcing “Some things America was not ready for,” above pictures of King George, a punk rocker with a rainbow-colored Mohawk and a Sterling sedan.

But anyway,when I get too old or tired to keep an old 124 on the road I'll definitely consider a Mazda/Fiat roadster as a replacement. Much of the fun and much less hassle.

Me too, but I would definitely pick the Mazda.

Congrats on your FFO award. You guys are a great example of how to start a club. Sorry I missed FFO. Suspension rebuild progressing nicely, and I hope to be ready for Erskine's Crab Run in November. You've threatened to participate a couple of times. Maybe this year?

Personally, I like the look....much better than the Mazda clone style we are seeing pictures of. Boxster flanks isn't a big derivation from the original design. Jag grill? looks like a modern adaptation of the original grill. If nothing else, the car looks European and not Japanese. I look at the car as a whole to see if all the design ideas blend coherently and I think they do. Put this design in a 200 hp package, i would entertain owning one. This is the first modern fiat i can say that about.

Just got off the phone with John Montgomery President of the Fiat Club America / FLU and Studio Manager at Benson Fiat in South Carolina. And we are buying their very first new Fiat Spider... the deposit is in the mail.
