Germanex soft top fiat 124
Anyone have any info on these tops? I live in central Georgia and am interested in buying a cloth material ,tan, top for my 1981 fiat 124. I gave heard good things about this California company. They only sell to dealers so need to know if any around the southeast. Thanks

Re: Germanex soft top fiat 124
I bought a Germanex vinyl top and was extremely happy with the quality, fit and finish. Unfortunately, they do not sell retail any longer- they only sell to installers. I spoke with the Germanex manager, and he said that the tops can be purchased through Autoberry.com

Re: Germanex soft top fiat 124
I bought my tan canvas top off Autoberry.com a couple of years ago and am very happy with it. Pretty easy to install and did it myself in a couple of hours. And a couple more to remember how the cables in the rear connected. That wrote:Anyone have any info on these tops? This is a Stayfast Cloth purchased through TopsOnline. $299 + CA tax + shipping for $341 to my door. Fit is very tight.

I saw Wizard124's top in person on Saturday. It looked great....a fantastic value in my opinion!

The hardest part is contorting your body to fit into the back seat to anchor down the back retainer and side cables. Last time, I took out both front and rear seats just to make it easier.
After feeding the side tension cables through the pockets in the top, what I found works best is to have one person inside the car with a screwdriver ready to go and one person on the outside. I anchored the rear bottom lip of the top down (carefully centering it on the car), then tightened the screws down snugly. I then mounted the front of the top to the header bow ensuring the seam aligned properly at the windshield frame. Once all of that is done, you can tighten the side tension cables and glue the flaps down to the other convertible top bows.
Working inside the car is very tight and you'll sweat a lot when it is hot. It isn't hard to install all in all.
