There seems to be a problem with the new area though. When I click on it I get a message that I don't have permissions to access it.

Perhaps you need to buy a new Spider first? :-)

I thought the Fiat version was going to be powered by a fiat drivetrain and the bodywork was going to be pininfarina?

As for the Porsche thing, I have a 914 in pieces right now and that is my long term project. I had thought about a 911, but looking at what it costs to maintain/repair one of those, especially drivetrain components, versus a fiat, it's astounding! Not only that, but these cars handle pretty well and the only way you're going to get the full benefit of a Porsche is by taking it to the track. I bought the 124 as a fair weather car to drive while I slowly get the 914 on the road, but it makes me toy with the idea of selling the 914 as it's going the way of the 911 in cost for parts. Probably the only reason I don't is that it's comets and I've had it for 16 years.

I personally love fiat the brand, historically speaking. Come on cars like the Topolino, the Cinquecento, the 600, 850 variants, our gorgeous spiders and their stunning coupe cousins, x19!, 128!. All these cars affordable in their day, crazy fun to drive, easy(ish) to fix and maintain and IMHO all quite well designed with some exception. And that doesnt include all the very cool stuff we never had in the us. That 2300 coupe that looks like an E9 is the s...t. I would love to have one of those! Im not as familiar with their more recent offerings but im sure the turbo charged punto is a kick in the pants too. If the styling is halfway decent and the chassis is mazda with an italian drive train id bet the new spider is gonna be top notch! The drive train is one of the best things about our cars and my 128 too!

And even more suprising is the number who enjoy the company of other like minded individuals.

I don't love Fiat the brand.... I just like my 124's. As to the new Spider. Odds are, not many of those people will land here. So i personally dont think its much of an issue... But if there is a segregated area... We'll be ther too I'm sure.
about ten years ago, i had a 911. it was a 78 sc, and to tell you the truth, there was not that much to learn about it, besides how to drive it aggressively without whipping the tail out in front of yourself. :) mechanically, it was brutally simple. but alas, my lovely german machine was stolen and chopped into pieces. and stupidly, i did not have comprehensive on it, so it just...went away...
