When searching Google for Bradley Artigue's wiring diagrams recently I noticed that the images that come up include a Fiat engine mounted on an engine stand on the exhaust side versus the end. This would be really handy as I continue assembling my engine, particularly for the flywheel / clutch assembly. Anyone know how / where on the engine this can be done?
BTW, that is a fantastic looking engine going into a bright yellow car. Belong to someone here?

Re: Engine on stand sideways
Hey Jeff,
It is very handy!! Mount the flywheel, clutch etc. and spin the motor to assemble everything on the front end. I side mounted mine on the exhaust side engine mount bolts. I just checked and all the pictures I took were from the other side. Never thought to take a picture of the mounted side, sorry!!
In any case, side mounting is perfect for installing the bottom end all the way until you need to get it in the car and hook up the exhaust.
Best!
Alan

Re: Engine on stand sideways
Yes mounting the engine on a stand using the exhaust-side engine mounting points works well. It gives plenty of access to most areas you'll be working on. I made up this little adapter/mount from an old engine mounting bracket - the 4mm-thick plate bolts to the swivel mount on my engine stand.
Here's an old engine ready to be stripped on the engine stand using the bracket shown above, painted yellow.

Re: Engine on stand sideways
I just took the arms off the pivoting part of the engine stand and drive holes in the same pattern as the four engine mount holes.
