Hi,. My 1976 1800 spider hesitates to take the gas when I put my foot down to sudden, otherwise there is fine response.
Am I on the right track assuming that it could be the accelerator pump ? gas filter, air filter and fuel pump is new.
Do I have to buy a new pump and how difficult is it to replace, I am still very, very green in all this but wish to learn without trashing the car.
Greetings from sunny Denmark ( finally )

Re: accelerator pump
the pump diaphragm may be bad, but the pump discharge nozzle could be plugged or the o-ring that seals the pump nozzle could be leaking. Make sure the ignition timing is correct and that the mechanical advance works

Re: accelerator pump
You don't really replace the "pump" - just the diaphragm inside the pump. Very easy to do.Antileon wrote:Hi,. My 1976 1800 spider hesitates to take the gas when I put my foot down to sudden, otherwise there is fine response.
