Deck height
Deck height
Would anyone know the stock deck height for a 1.8l engine?. Trying to order some Ross pistons for my build. Machine shop says they can't measure it accurately?

Re: Deck height
I'm looking in all the various references I have and I don't see that dimension called out anywhere.
I have a couple disassembled blocks in my garage. I could get you dimensions from them.

I have if somewhere, but I won't be near those books for a few days. If you machine can't take ONE minute to measure it likely you should not use them. Same if they don't know how to....

Re: Deck height
Agreed on the machine shop, Vandor. The engine is already apart. Does it have to have the crank re-installed to get an accurate centre line to measure the height?. Meanwhile, I don't mind waiting if you can find the number from one of your reference books. None of mine had the deck height.

No, crank does not have to be installed.
Send me an email, to remind me once I'm near those books in a few days.
