Funding Needed for National Fiat Spider Day -Campaign Closed

We are one step closer to obtaining National Fiat Spider Day! The application has been accepted by National Day Calendar. What is needed now is to fund one of their promotion packages. I am advocating that we pursue the "bronze" package which runs $1500. I have started a GoFundMe campaign to collect donations to make this happen. Ok I'll be that guy. This is an offer from a company to sell something called a National Day, issue a press release, and make a Facebook posting and provide a framed certificate certifying they collected your money and provided the above. There really is no official registry or federal government designation. I can sell you all those same things for about $10. Sorry - hate to see people get fleeced.

I'm with you supplyguy. This looks and feels like the biggest smoke & mirror show since the Pet Rock.

I've marked June 21 on my calendar as National Spider Day, and it didn't cost me a cent.

Maybe I'm missing something, so if I am, please explain to me why others can't do the same

The $1500 seems like a steep price. There are only a few Fiat sites of which the entire old Fiat world revolves around. It seems we can all get together and announce to the world that this day is now National Fiat Spider Day.
What comes to mind is all the minorities deciding which labels are degrading and which aren't. Who is the group that decides this should be so. It seems like it is a small vocal segment who decide these matter. Don't see why we can't do the same thing on our own. This way we can scream and whine about all the fix-it-again, Tony jokes as derogatory and leaves the perpetrator open to a discrimination law suit.

Also noted that Texas Republican Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick declared today as John Wayne Day to comendate his 108 th. birthday. However, checking on the National Day Calendar site, I did not see it listed. Huuum ...., it that legal?

I understand why some would be skeptical or think this is a trap - it's a natural human reaction. National Fiat Spider Day is designed to help raise awareness beyond this forum (as well as xWeb and FiatClubAmerica) and rekindle interested in these cars again for those that just have these cars sitting around and not doing anything with them or for someone who has always wanted one and hasn't taken action yet.

If you are on the fence or have dismissed this request in the past, please consider the "bigger picture" and what a positive exposure can do for the overall good of Fiat Spiders everywhere! For the one-time cost of a latte or a beer or even a magazine you will toss or donate, you can help promote these great cars. Every little bit helps!
