this has been a great car, so I went ahead and redid the top and paint on it again. I am a car restorer by trade, and was becoming envious of the cars I was turning over to my customers that looked much nicer than my old Spider!
The car is not an "all original" 67 Spider anymore, but has been redone to my taste over the years. has a 130 HP high performance 1800 in it now. (PBS cams, head work on a Euro 1800 head, header, electronic ignition, cam pulleys, 36mm weber, etc) those are the real Abarth wheels, and it also has real Abarth coil springs from when you could buy those over 20 years ago from FAZA

Beautiful paint job! Nice color combo with the wheels.
I think you sent me pics of your Spider a few years ago.

Very nice. I like those bumpers. Must be home made. They work well on your car.

Bumpers are similar to the ones they used on the 1974 Abarth Safari rally cars--which is what you need to drive here in the SF Bay Area, where people will hit your car when parked all the time. PO had them made up after getting tired of replacing broken tail lights, and repairing the front and rear of the car. the early small bumpers are cute, but really are just trim decorations and offer no protection at all. I drive this car and park it all over the place, so I like having them.

Nice car and great color ! Do you have a color code ? I might consider a full restoration on my car and I been looking at some Racing green colors.

Re: after 25 years, just redid my 67 Spider
Car had been painted Fiat dark green code 312 before, but this time I wanted something just a little darker and richer. I used the racing green Miata paint from the early 90's special edition car code HU. I did tweak it a little by adding a small amount of black to it to darken it a half shade or so without muddying it.
Those bumpers look really good on the darker color cars where they just blend right in, and offer better protection than the heavy chrome tube later bumpers because they come up higher so normal height cars will hit them before the body. They were made to bolt right up to the stock threaded mounting holes. A decent fabrication shop should be able to bend up a similar set without too much trouble.

What type of seats do you have in the car? They look sharp!

Re: after 25 years, just redid my 67 Spider
the seats are the old Procar Rally seats back when they were still made in Brazil. They used to be a direct fit to the stock Fiat sliders, but the newer style ones have a different bolt pattern on them. I did have them redone a couple of years ago, as the original vinyl was wearing out after 20 years. Had a little fun and put seat heaters in there when we redid them. we used a vinyl made for motorcycles, (its thicker and has a cloth backing) which doesn't seem to get as hot as regular vinyl, and is less slippery.
