Timing belt

Can someone help me out to resolve this issue. I replaced the timing belt 1month ago , it seems to have slack between the two cam wheel , no matter how many times the engine turns. The tension-er wheel is one year old, I am really confused.

Two possibilities: 1. The belt is too long. 2. The tensioner pulley needs to be adjusted or the spring is bad. I would suspect #2 if the belt came from a reliable source.

It´s kind of impossible to have a slack between the two cam wheel unless one tooth jumped. I would redo my cam timing and check the tensioner spring in the process.

The only thing locating the 2 cams is the belt. Only adjusting the overall tension will change that. As others have said, reset your tensioner bearing.

Sounds like not all the slack was taken out of the belt when it was installed. The tensioner spring is not strong enough to move the cam wheels if there is slack somewhere. One has to be sure all the slack is in the part of the belt that the tensioner rides against, then the nut bolt fixing the tensioner can be tightened.

I remember reading a post where someone used spring clamps on the lip of each cam to hold the belt in place on each cam until you get it full installed around the tension pulley.
