Nardi Classic Steering Wheel
Nardi Classic Steering Wheel
I just purchased an used Nardi Classic Wood (14.3in) diameter steering wheel without the horn assembly, what bits and pieces do I need to purchase to make this wheel work with my '78 Spider?

Max,
There's a picture of my Nardi in this link:

I had no idea how lucky I was when I found mine on Craigslist down in Virginia. It had the horn button and trim surround included with the wheel. I didn't know then how important they were. Guy that sold it to me told me he had taken it in trade from some guy that owed him money, so he had no interest or attraction. Looked like it had barely been used, if at all.
Nice ones don't show up on Craigslist very often, even if you do a national search.
Bruce (broran) helped me out with advice on fitting it. Still needed to buy the hub adapter and correctly machined screws from Crowdler. I shimmed the steering column at Bruce's suggestion and am happy with the result.
With the sun over your shoulder you can get a blinding glare from the spokes. I don't care, always wanted one.

So Bernie, are you saying that the old fiat cap fits over the a new horn assembly or in lieu of a new Nardi (crazy over-priced) horn assembly?

You still need the Nardi assembly; the Fiat badge replaces only the horn button.
