5 JUL 2015, 3 days after driving the Blue 72 50 miles home on 20 yr expired plates, dry rotting sidewalls, and no seatbelts. Lots of changes since then (tires, belts, and plates among the first!), none of which would be done half as well without this forum.

I'm a newbie, I just had my 1 year anniversary last month. I came across this site when I decided to by a convertible. Initially my plan was to get a 1964 MGB, to honor the one my farther had to trade in on the station wagon after my birth, but found out I couldn't afford one. I then began to look for other mid-60's convertibles. I drove a few MG Midgets, talk about scary rides, I even drove a, do I dare say it, a Miata, but in the end I drove a 1971 Spider in Columbia, MO. and was hooked. I would have bought it but it there was a coolent leak comming from the intake manifold and figured it wouldn't make the 250 mi. drive home, so I passed. That is when I found this site I wanted to do a little more research on the car before looking for another. I found "Pesto" in Wichita and the next day joined the site.
The people here on this site are amazing I concure with aj81spider
The forum has transformed me from someone who knew nothing about cars and was afraid to touch mine to someone who knows very little about cars and fearlessly tears into his car on a regular basis.
I am not as confident yet. I can say that with all the help I have recieved on this forum I have returned "Pesto" a bit closer to his former glory. In fact I do not think I would have purchased my Spider if it were not for the great support network here and companies like AutoRicambi who support us owners.

I know this is a bit long winded but thank you.
