Charcoal canister..

Post by garion »

So I'm slowing trying to clean things up on my 79, with a DFEV.. I bought the car with the DFEV, and the charcoal canister is disconnected. Since I'm getting a gas smell, I want to try and hook it back up.

Right now, my fuel return line is plugged.. I have a 3 way gas filter I'll be installing soon. So I'll have that hooked back up..

The canister has the gas vent line going to the bottom, and I plan on hooking the manifold vacuum to the top (or possibly split from the vacuum advance line).. But... I have one more line, coming from the bottom of the canister that I have no idea where to hook it up... My searching here says its supposed to go to the carb's vent (I had one on a AFDA I had), but the DFEV doesn't have one.. Where I should I be sending that too?

(I also need to come up with a 'cap' for the canister apparently too).

Within that post in the 2nd from bottom post is another link that addresses the third hose.

Perfect, looks like I can just plug it. Why it didn't bring that thread up in my search, I have no idea.
