Build Date

Is there a way to determine the approximate build date from the data plate in the engine bay or even just the VIN? My Spider is missing the plate inside the driver's door sill, which is where I think the date information is supposed to live. Thanks for any thoughts you might have.

I have a list of VINs that I have collected over the years, and many have build dates. If you post your VIN I can tell you the closest data points I have.
