heater hose and window scraper ?

Hi all. I've been restoring an 80 spider I bought last fall at an auction. I've accomplished quite a bit during the winter and am putting things back together and getting ready to paint.

I put a new heater core and valves in and am ready to put new hoses on it. Does the inner side hear core tube get the short hose going to the pipe and the outer core tube hook to the intake?

I have the doors sanded to bare metal to the window trim. I'd like to remove the trim and replace the passenger side rubber while I have it off, since there is a piece torn off. Do these just pry off or are there clips on the inside holding it on? If so, does the window have to come out to get at the clips?

I'm not sure I've got mine correctly hooked up, but it works. I've got a hose going from the cylinder head to an air bleeder "T" and from there to the inside pipe on my heater core. The outside pipe on my heater core connects to a hose which goes to the pipe connected to the water pump.

I highly recommend adding the T to your hose now while you have the system apart.

I've got photos of this, but they are not yet uploaded to my photo site so I can't post them on the forum. I'll try and post a picture for you later today.

I think I was able to pry my window trim off when I replaced the rubber. I believe the chrome piece just pops off with a little effort. I think the felt side (interior) of that window trim is riveted on, but I don't remember having too much of an issue with the outside pieces.

The window chrome molding just pries off. Once the molding comes off, you will see the weather stripping is a friction fit in a track in the chrome. When replacing the weather stripping, carefully pry open the groove with a screw driver as you feed it in the track. Also, don't try to notch the new trim around the window vent frame until after you put the chrome molding back on the door because otherwise odds are the notch in the rubber won't line up snug.

Thanks guys. That helps. Previous owner had it hooked up opposite of what you say. I assumed it was wrong. I do have the bleeder T in the same area. Thanks.
Thanks for the info on the trim. If I paint and then push this trim back on, will it scrap the paint off as it's pushed on? Or would it be better to replace, then paint?

I removed mine before paint which gave a better paint finish and put the trim back on after paint.

A small wood block and a hammer allows you to tap it on without much trouble and without damage to the paint unless you miss the block of wood with the hammer. A rubber mallet with the block of wood would be an even safer idea.

I did get the window scraper off. You're right it just pries off. I noticed two different styles. One had metal clips that spread to clamp it to edge, the other uses a plastic strip. Not sure which is a replacement or original. I assume over the years they either changed this or it is just replacement parts differences.
