Heater control lever base

Post by Texsardo »

Due to heater problems, I have center console out and upper console pulled. All cables function as designed but looking at the metal base plate where the cable attach to levers and levers move font and back, I think the levers have been put in wrong. I have seen photos of the chrome slotted top piece that shows the rubber bushings on outside of base. Mine are inside the base piece but levers have been bent and they don't seem to be aligned properly with bushings, washers, etc. Anyone have a parts breakdown diagram that shows an exploded view or even a photo showing proper alignment of levers, etc in base that is bolted to transmission hump? :?

Here's a picture of mine taken when I was stripping the interior. Hopefully it is of some help.

Re: Heater control lever base, RESOLVED THANKS

Aj 81, thanks, that is exactly the view I needed. No wonder levers were hard to use. The thick black bushings on the outside of the brace are inside and screwing up the levers path. Tomorrow I will set them right.
This is why this forum exists. We are not all factory trained Fiat specialists. But we have learned a thing or two because we will always be tinkering or fixing what we last tinkered with.
