Soft top questions, 1968 vehicle

Post by smudger186 »

Hi all please could somebody help me, I am trying to figure out what the two hooks fitted near the boot lid are for? I figure they are for a soft top roof cover? the previous owner told me they is supposed to be a latch mechanism on them?? are they correct fitment for a 1968 car?
when i bought the car the hardtop was fitted, and the soft top was in a bit of a state, I have stripped the soft top frame which is currently away for powder coating
All the help, instructions, pictures of the soft top frame and fitment to the vehicle would be great, also some detailed interior shots of the inside of a canvas roof would be helpful.
When the roof is down is there a mechanism to hold it down or is it reliant on the weight of the rear 1/4 glass windows?

thanks smudger186

the soft boot that covers the top connects to those hooks. Notice the car in the header for how it should look
