1800cc vs. 2000cc Cam Question
Are the intake and exhaust cams the same in the 1800cc and 2000cc engine? I just pulled the top end from a '78 1800cc spider to transplant on my '79 2000. I was just just wondering what cam profile was best. The '79 2000 was a California carb. type with lots of emission components. Also, I keep reading about the 4-2-1 exhaust manifold, could someone post or direct me to a photo so I know what I am looking for. Thanks!

I don't know about the cam profile, but I did that same exact switch, and it seems to work for me just fine.

Re: 1800cc vs. 2000cc Cam Question
The cams are the same. Even if the nose is narrower on the 1800 cams they are identical in terms of profile.
To the second point, we refer to manifolds by the way they are routed from the head (four ports) to the pipe under the car (one port). Visually just look at the exhaust side - it will either go from four to two to one (4-2-1) or from four to one (4-1). The 4-2-1 simply flows a little better than the 4-1.
