Re: 82 spider to restore
Decided to change to a red car... So now I have to figure out how to put things back together. My plan is to first insulate the floor pan with quiet ride or whatever is best? and to insulate outside the tunnel with heat insulation-riveted? -I remember my radio used to get really hot after long rides. Who can recommend the best insulation?
Is there an exploded parts manual to help reassembly?

Have you made contact with the Balt/DC folks yet? A great group of guys and girls.

Re: 82 spider to restore
Thanks for the info. Yes I am a member of DC chapter.
Has anyone had experience insulating the tunnel from outside with heat shield type insulation? I have used this stuff between cab and exhaust on a truck and think it should be pretty effective. I am thinking of doing that plus insulating inside...

Re: 82 spider to restore
Nearing completion:
Synopsis of project:
-very happy with the driving package-driven 500mi. Scored an automatic rear end from Bayless and am looking forward to end result (i.e. I will be able to keep up with highway traffic)
- Used every product dynamat has available and seems to do a good job in the near run. I drove this car for 20 years, as-was, and it emitted huge heat from trans tunnel. now stays cool. Hope the stuff that I put in the outside of trans tunnell lasts
-love my new dash layout with added oil/volt gauges and '83 auto trunk latch - cut the panels from a piece of black walnut that came off my sawmill. It would have been much easier to modify the middle panel before I installed the dash.
-love my new exhaust system using (modified) 2" resonator and muffler from autoricambi- I still don't know why there were so many bends in the resonator pipe, which I cut off.
