Hey guys. This is my first post here. I've been creepin around and have found that most people are super helpful here. Glad to find a car site forum where people help each other rather than just talk crap.
The question at had is, I'm trying to delete all unnecessary things from the engine bay. As far as emissions etc. , and tucking the wires for the cleanest look possible. If I have to relocate anything I have no problem doing so. I just need to understand it before i do so. I'm finding that some people have deleted the electrovalves as well as most of the emissions stuff, which I "for the most part" understand how to do. I was wondering if I can delete the vapor canister as well? Or at least relocate it. Of if there's a smaller one that I can buy that works the same? and looks better than that big plastic thing.
I have a 1800 and I will be running Empi IDF 40's.
I've done some research on the vapor canister and I've gotten mixed signals as if its really necessary or not, and the same with the electrovalves. Any advice you guys have would be helpful. Thanks!

sorry, more detailed more serious answer:
The spider 2k canister is more svelt and looks neater. Might be an option for you.
The problem of gasoline fumes venting from the tank is actually worse than it was 40 years ago. And i mean that not in an eco-warrior, tree-hugger sense. I mean there are more volatile esters in the gasoline you get these days.
If you simply delete the system, you'll have to get used to smelling gasoline. If you delete the system and plug the vent lines, you may rupture your tank on a hot day. I'm not kidding.
Over on ih8mud, guys with 20 year old trucks are finding that if the check valves in the factory canister are clogged, on a normal day it means that there's a rush of gasoline fumes when they remove the cap to fill up. Or on worse days, a rush of hot gasoline. On even worse days, say in the middle of an off-road adventure on a hot day, a boiling tank and the occasional rupture.
So yeah, you want that system. If you get real tricky you might find a way to hide it in the fender maybe.

do you think I would need the electrovalve that it was plumed to? and if so, how would I go about the wiring? as in deleting what I dident need from both electrovales?
