Bell Housing Spring Washer

I am at the point I need to put the bell housing on the 5spd transmission I rebuilt. This is a 1438 bell housing and a late model 5spd.
Between the bell housing and the transmission is a spring washer, from what the internet tells me this is a very important washer as it holds the input shaft bearing in place.
I dug around in my parts bin and I have what looks like two different spring washers and I think both could fit. One is thicker and feels stronger than the other. Here is a pic of them: https://imgur.com/a/KdIXM

Anyone know which one I should be using?

I looked at the diagrams and I only see one washer of this size for installing the bell housing. In searching around I did find this youtube video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JPhBXCVu76M
In the picture it looks like the thicker washer is being used.
Can you say more about which washer goes where?

I know of only one washer, I've seen thin ones on some early transmissions. I would use the ticker one, but just to be sure measure the depth of the bellhousing to be sure that there is enough room for it. There is a slight possibility that when they changed to the thicker washer they made the hole in the bellhousing deeper.

Ah that would make sense! I must have got the thinner one with the 1438 bell housing. Will try measuring next time I'm out at my garage.

The OP didn't say if he rebuilt the transmission or not. Also, I didn't view the link provided.

My post was to get him thinking...Whether one of the spring washers was from the input or main shafts.

One is much larger than the other, tho, no way to confuse one with the other.

Probably too late to be of any help, but I have mine out now so I measured it. The car is an '84, but it has an earlier FI engine (crank nut on the front, and the 35 mm pilot bearing). Transmission may or may not be original.

The spring washer that sandwiches between transmission and bell housing is 74 mm OD, about 59.5 mm ID, and 2.62 mm thick.
