Yeah we have several feet of snow here in Massachusetts. Won't be all melted until July.Image

I feel sorry for all of you in the NE.

It's the exact reason I moved to AZ 32 years ago. Putting up 300' of snow fence each year just to get out of the drive way got old fast.

Oh, and Russ, we don't use the F word around here. But I agree when the green dries out things will get dicey.

Fabulous day on the Left Coast! Sunny and 12º C. After cutting my lawn, I washed the Spider and put 50 KM's on the odometer on some great country roads. Got it up to 120 KMH on the freeway - and was pleased to find there was some pedal left. I was particularly delighted with the performance given that this was my first run following replacement of my fuel pump last fall. The car ran strong, started right up when hot and interestingly enough seems to have lost the "popping" kind of backfiring when decelerating.
I'm a happy guy!

We use the English system here in N.E. Measure snow in feet for example.

We know. About the only country in the world that still does, except for the military I believe. Think they are metric?
I'm old enough to be bilingual though(measurements) . I have youngsters asking me to talk metric when explaining measurements in imperial. Our building construction is still imperial.
Metric is sure simple though.

Reminds me of when I was younger and worked as a chain man in land surveying. Properties were measured in feet but not inches. A foot was divided into 10ths as in 235.3' by 140.8'. Confused my young mind.
But now I'm "bilingual".

Now back to the Subject Winter Sucks... :x
-20 Celsius / -4 Fahrenheit here today...

My mother (89 but don't tell her I told you) says when she was at Smith College she belonged to the "Duodecimal Society" or some such thing promoting a base 12 measurement system. Meanwhile, everyone here routinely owns two sets of tool - I don't suppose mechanics in other countries need to do that. And....
With this winter and the associated problems like ice dams and our public transit breakdown I think a lot of people may be considering abandoning the Boston area altogether. And the prospect of the Olympics here is less likely too with the weaknesses exposed.

[quote="Nanonevol" And the prospect of the Olympics here is less likely too with the weaknesses exposed.[/quote]

Thats a good thing. We hosted the Olympics here in Vancouver (and Whistler) a few years ago and we'll be paying for it for years...meaning essentials such as healthcare and education suffer. Now you'll often go into a store and are asked if you want to donate to a healthcare project of some sort or another. The real costs of the Olympics are buried deep in red tape and false economies so there never is full disclosure regarding the actual cost.

Diplomats enjoyed it though.

Are you going to buy a small enclosed trailer to take your Spider with you, towed behind your RV?
Please don't sell your car -- it is too nice and you've put so much work in to it.
