A while ago I posted on the forums that I had a 1975 sport spider up for sale. No takers with the same response from Craiglist
I found out after I sold the car on eBay that it was purchased by a gentleman in Italy. At first I was really suspicious but he paid me in full via PayPal and I worked with his international carrier to transport the car abroad. This was a really neat experience, and he seems really pleased with the car. The door to door time appears to have been 1.5 months!
He intends to restore the car, not scrap it. I hope he has better success than I did. I have asked him to send me pictures of the final product. A bittersweet conclusion to my failed first attempt. Just wanted to share.

This is not uncommon, as Spiders are more plentiful and cheaper here. Right now we are helping a fellow from Poland acquire a '83 Spider.

i used to but these cars all the time when they were cheaper. I came across a number of people back then that were buying them to ship back to Europe.

price in Europe are much higher but if You count every cost like transport, tax etc it will be the same... the most important think is that in Europe 80% of spiders have problems with the rust.. that is way peaple prefer to buy it in USA (california )

My last attempt was for $1000 on this forum, craigslist, and ebay.
