Re: Drove my spider today
And on the other side of the country, the Sacramento Area Fiat club had a small gathering. We first met for a little lunch at the Monks Cellar in Roseville, great place by the way. The we compared notes on each others cars out in the parking lot. Then took a drive to the California Auto Museum. Before we left there, we setup for these photos.

Did the same thing..... 'cept it's 78 and sunny here.
Went into work to catch up on some things so Monday isn't so Monday.
Stopped at the grocery store on the way back home and parked way at the end of the lot. When I was walking back to the car 3 cars drove right next to it to look at it. Guess I should be flattered, but I park way back to keep other cars away.

About 58 F today. Started the Fiat for the first time since End of Oct. had to put a charger on for a few hours and a few cranks later it started up and took it around the block.
Now to vacuum the mouse crap out...and hopefully by the end of Feb. I can insure for the year...

Also took advantage of an 80 degree weekend. Wifey's birthday saturday so she got to pick the route. Went to Estrella mountain area and back. skipped the freeways. I very delightful drive. Took a short drive today to take our granddaughter a birthday card. Several convertibles out and about, mostly new ones. Did see a very clean corvair and a 914. Tried to talk the wifey into going to the concours in Fountain Hills, but no go.

Re: Drove my spider today
Been driving mine everyday to work here in not so Sunny Tampa Bay where we have been enduring frigid high temps in the mid 60's to mid 70's during the warmest parts of the day the past two months. Filled up with diesel for the first time in 3 weeks and the pump stopped at a little over 9 gallons but I pushed it to 10 to cover over 500 miles of commuting and errands.
Seem to have started a trend as more co-workers are now driving their convertibles to work and are parking near me in the company parking garage. Seeing Miatas, BMWs, Sebrings, Camaros and Mustangs but I have the only Spider. A common comment is that the Spider does not really stand out as a 50 year old design when they are all parked nearby.

Sounds like you have the only car with any pedigree whatsoever in your parking garage.

15 degrees and snowing again here. It's snowed 4 feet in the last two weeks. Were my Spider to leave the garage you wouldn't be able to see it behind the snow banks.

Re: Drove my spider today
I have been driving my spider every day until last Saturday when the drive shaft started being noisy. We live in Nova Scotia but have been in Sebastian Fl since Nov last. We take the car every where on a flat bed trailer that we tow behind our Winnebago and it has been amazing until this problem. Last year we drove out to Seattle and Victoria and the Fiat came with us. Can't wait to get it back on the road as it is our only transport other than bikes.

We took our 1800 on a flat bed to New Mexico for the international balloon festival last year... It was a blast! We're repeating this year - but also taking the 2000 (there's a car show on the Sunday...). We should get a few more people along...

Re: Drove my spider today
I needed to work in my garage today so I pushed the spider out into the driveway. The sun came out so I decided to take her out for a short spin. Needless to say I didn't get much done in the garage. I did notice when I was sitting at a long light the temperature climbed a little higher than I would like. Looks like I will be flushing the radiator soon.
