An odd call, but I would bet that the defense would have bet their lives on the running play, so it is likely that "the element of surprise" was in play. Didn't happen this time. One of the things I like about baseball is that there is no clock; it being the only major sport played here without one. But at the end of clock time, whoever scored the most points wins. Time to focus on Spring training.
