Re: Can we talk 124 Coupe?
Mark, do you sell a solenoid of that type and can you explain it's usage/function a bit more? It sounds like an upgrade to the good old "brown wire fix"
I'm interested in doing this to all 3 of my cars and i think a step by step post (with photos) would be very helpful for the forum. id be happy to do that once i understand what's needed.
thanks

Re: Can we talk 124 Coupe?
I get them as I need them, but it's not a problem for me to obtain them.
They're pretty simple to install; take all of the wires from the ignition switch that get fed power with the switch on and attach them to one large post on the solenoid. The other large post gets battery power, the easiest spot is from the starter battery post. Connect a wire from the ignition switch ON terminal to the small post on the solenoid. This is the same theory as the multiple relays, just a lot less wiring. The solenoids are designed to carry high amp loads. These look similar to the old Ford starter solenoids but they are continuous use, not intermittent like the Ford units.

Re: Can we talk 124 Coupe?
I picked up some new side view mirrors for the coupe.
Found them on ebay and for the price, I expected to be underwhelmed.
Turns out, they are very nice. I think I'll get another pair for the Spider.
Does anyone know the origins of this mirror design?

Finally took time to install those mirrors.
I think I'll leave them on.
I also just received a glove box from Italy. Got it installed and now I just need to see the struts that support it on either side so I can fabricate some.

Nice work! Tight, not full of ripples. Are you getting the fronts done?

Hi ital,
Yes, I will be having the fronts done also.
But a new headliner is next on the list for the interior.

Re: Can we talk 124 Coupe?
Hi ital,
Yes I want to pick that up from you.
Problem is funds right now.
I need to do another couple side jobs to get that from you. Is it the only one you have?
Was out doing some work today and snapped this shot.
I have no idea why it turned out like this.

No that one is gone. Another “couper” had to have it now, so closed the listing.

Re: Can we talk 124 Coupe?
ital,
Is the headliner you offer NOS?
Or are you having them made from a pattern?
I am unclear as to whether or not you have another for me to purchase in the future.
I am guessing that your mention of putting me on a list implies you have access to more.

Thanks.
Did a mileage check and got 24 MPG on the highway cruising at an average of 70 MPH.
