Phaetn - if it makes you feel better, the high here tomorrow will only be 27 degrees, Celsius that is.

Peace and stay warm. (Nice hat BTW).

Phaetn, great nopro vid, tx
For future reference, you need to add a "frozen smile" while driving...like the blond in the 60s pic.
Makes people know that although your balls are blue  , you are having a great time and loving it!

Might need a pub night to break up the winter.
Wishing you a great Fiat year buddy.

Made it to Dec. 01st as the last drive of the year. Lost about a week in November because of unusual cold, but then it was better.

Today is January 06th. One month and nearly a week crossed off the calendar. It was made more bearable by a "Christmas package" from Auto Ricambi that my kids pulled out from under the tree. :) (Yes, sometimes I order things for myself and put Santa's name on it.)

Hopefully only about three more months to go! (Yes, I can do it... breathe... breathe...)

Cheers,
phaetn

Damn, that's cold the for normally balmy Toronto (by comparison to Ottawa). Right now it's -26C (about -15F) and with windchill it's -37C (-35F). It will drop a couple to a few more degrees tonight, so let's call it an even -40 (C or F). That's water pipe freezing cold in my old house if the wind is coming from the right (wrong?) direction. I just joked with my kids "Who wants to go for a ride in the convertible now?!?" "Noooo!" they screamed. They're just young enough to think that I was being serious. :)

Getting into my family ride (a Mazda 5 mini minivan) in the parking lot at work the clutch pedal actually sort of stuck down it was so cold. In 30+ years of driving in this city in all sorts of makes of cars, I've never had that happen before. I guess the wind was just right and it was a new clutch last year so maybe the plates of the clutch pack are of a different material than stock. Or maybe it was just the lever (cable? not sure of the assembly) not actuating well since any oil in the car was probably an icy semi-solid goo. It was fine after the car warmed up for a minute, so I'm thinking oil..

How do we survive up here? We make love not only to keep amorous relationships healthy and strong, but also just to stay warm! It's okay to keeps socks on in these conditions. ;)

And we *really* appreciate the change of seasons. Spring isn't that far away, really. :)

A co-worker told me this aft that her kids that were trapped on a broken ski chair-lift for 3+ hours last weekend. Now THAT would scare me! They had to hoist everyone done, apparently. Luckily it wasn't cold at all compared to this week.

SpiderDan and 4Uall, a beer sounds like an EXCELLENT idea! I'll bring my hat!

Cheers,

Our weather has gotten us another dubious distinction.

The Daily Beast Website has named Grand Forks the second coldest city in America.

Second only to Fairbanks, Alaska.

The Daily Beast names Bismarck the third coldest city.

Fargo fourth and Watertown, South Dakota fifth.

After a few days of -12 C then about 14" of snow in 36 hours that virtually paralyzed the area as there is not the plows for that amount of snow in a short period of time, temp is now above freezing. As a matter of fact, it was almost t-shirt weather when the sun came out in the afternoon.
Home was easy as I had a snow blower to do the driveway, but the shop here is different. I have a plow for the fork lift that can push the stuff around but I get the local rental place to drop a skid-steer off when one comes available to move the snow to the outside of my compound. Four hours later I have about 1/2 done. Now to move the big pile in the back so I can get at my logs....

Yikes, Chris - you Okanagan folks really took a hit! We didn't get any snow - not even on Mt Washington, which is really suffering again this year. All we're getting is a hell of a lot of fog and that pesky little earthquake last night (4.8 near Tofino) that rattled our dishes and shook my Lay-Z-Boy with me in it!!
