Gaping piston rings for Mondial 85 bore
Hi all. I am rebuilding an engine block. I had the block machined. My pistons are vintage Mondial high comp pistons and are 1mm over size,,,85mm. I have new Hastings piston rings. Do i need to gap them and if so what do i gap them to and can i do it by hand as i don't have any specialized equipment,,,thanks.

Gap them per the factory manual or the instructions that come with the rings. The two should be pretty close.
You can check, but should not need to gap the oil ring. The factory specs won't work on that as it's a different style oil ring.
