"Half" dash caps?

Post by VanillaThunder »

Anyone have experience with these? Mine is a rolling restoration, and I plan to replace the entire dash next year. I saw a few of these half caps for sale, and it seems like a step up from a carpet dash cover, which I had planned to do as a temporary fix so I didn't have to stare at those cracks this spring-fall.

I put one in my car and I'm pretty happy with it. Prep is the key. Test fit it a few times to get it right before you glue it in. You'll have to trim some of the areas around the glove box etc, but if you take your time, it looks pretty good. I was going to do the same thing you're talking about....put the half cap in, and then eventually replace the dash. The half cap came out so good, I never did replace the dash.
