If you don't mind my asking, lucas83, where did you get it? I'm looking for a car cover at the moment...

Thanks. I should have checked there first before even posting. I feel somehow like I've let Team Canada down. :)

Thanks for the Canadian love (not like Jian's, though)!

How nature greeted me in the parking lot after work (I started it first as the battery has been getting finicky with the cold):

I only put the roof up if it rains -- snow, no problem. :)

Probably only a few more driving days left. It's not the wet or snow that worries me, or even the tire compound not having as much grip below 7°C, but when the city starts salting the roads. That's coming any day now as things get cold enough at night...

Here's a quick vid as the snow really started to fall on the way home (driving with the top down, naturally!).

Another pic in my laneway:

The odometer reads 89,994.6 miles. Just before it turns to 90K seems like a good place to end the season. :) I bought it in mid-April with 86,092 and there was snow on the ground then, too. :)

The car is going to bed, very, very soon and I'm almost missing it already....

Goodnight room
Good night cow jumping over the moon
Goodnight light
And the red balloon
Goodnight bears
Goodnight chairs
Goodnight kittens
And goodnight mittens
Goodnight clocks
And goodnight socks
Goodnight little house
And goodnight mouse
Goodnight comb
And goodnight brush
Goodnight nobody
Goodnight mush
And goodnight to the old lady
whispering "hush"
Goodnight stars
Goodnight air
Goodnight noises everywhere

Goodnight Spider...

I'll be parking Angelina today
Took a drive yesterday along the "phaetn parkway" (renamed from Rockcliffe) and noticed they had salted the curves near the Canoe club
Then drove to my mechanics' place, in snow squalls, for one last beer(s). I am amazed how well those new 13" Michelin cookie cutters handle. :D
Got a few thumbs up from other drivers, they probably think I'm nuts. (bet you got a few of those too phaetn)
This morning I will give her one last cleaning, check fluids, fill her up with Petro 94 and take her to her resting place. My sister has a 4 car garage, so Angelina gets parked beside her Mustang. I'll take a few pics.

Although parking her for the year is sad, it has been a great year. I put just over 6,500 miles this summer and she never let me down. She is such a tough dependable little car.

Now about next year...install new dash, fix 4th gear, a few oil leaks, valve guides, tweak/replace carb...
Did someone say AR?

Dan, Ultra 94 from Petro Canada may be high in octane but also contains up to 10% ethanol. What's important in storage is not the high dose of octane but you should make sure it's ethanol free. That crap is hydroscopic and attracts moisture and has high corrosion aggressiveness. It has a short shelf life and breaks down after 2 months of sitting causing sludge and grime. Many motors especially older engines are constructed with parts that become brittle with use of alcohol as well as rust formation in the fuel system. Newer cars can stand it but not our little Spiders. And besides, the energy content of ethanol is less than that of the equivalent of gasolne.
In Quebec Shell Vpower and Ultramar premium are said to be ethanol free. There are decals at the pumps. Keep that in mind the next time you fill up.

That'll be in March
I know that Ethanol is bad for storage, That's why I always filled up a few times with Sunoco 94 before storage. I assumed (wrongly) that it stayed the same when Petro Canada took over. Never noticed the sticker on the new pumps!
Next year Shell V Power.

YOU miss her! My last ride was Sep 30th at Montebello. What a picture perfect day that was! Some tinkering with bypassing the heater core shortly after, gave her a 30 min run and the season was over. I still hear her crying from under the car cover.

The November thaw in Ontario afforded me the opportunity to make a run for the storage shop. Pretty exciting for me as this is really the first time the car has been driven aside from a few test runs around the block in 25 years. The wind was howling and I ran into scattered showers for the 20 kilometer trip. I drove at the legal limit of 80 K well maybe up to 90 a couple of times. Looking forward to working on projects over the winter to get “Giorgio “ready to run in the spring.
