I appreciate your thoughts, but I don't think this is only a distributor cap problem. As I said there is oil leaking all over the place, and I'm in Northern Illinois so I won't be able to drive it for several months, so I feel like I should try to fix it properly. Mechanics say its better just to bring the car in and let them deal with it instead of trying to do it yourself and then bring it in with a box of parts, but I hope it doesn't get to that point.
