Nice, but...

A 1600 engine in a '78 is an upgrade?

That particular 1600 looks very nice. Correct me if I'm wrong, but a "proper" 1608 will rev more freely than the later 1800s.

Dude had me wincing when he said "when Fiats are spectacular, they are almost Ferrari-like." Despite some shared positioning of components, and maybe even some shared items (Campi wheels, Veglia guages?), except for a Dino there's really no comparison.

Dude made some obvious mistakes: when he mentions a 1600cc engine, he says it's "a lot more power than what you would get on the earlier, much smaller motor". It came with a bigger one, obviously, given that it's a big bumper car, whether or not the 1600 revs more freely or even has higher compression. Says that the battery has been "relocated" to the rear.

Then he says stuff like "No manufacturer in the [sic] history has put silver paint this nice on a car." What?!? Really? Never, ever? Then he mentions it has "electric fans, ahead of their time. A lot of people didn't put electric fans until the late '90s or 2000s in these cars". WTF? Does he mean Fiat was ahead of its time, and other marques didn't do it? Or that Fiat didn't and this one had one? Whaaa?

It's had a lot of money put in to it, to be sure, but it's not quite to my taste. The 15" wheel alone with low profile tires really changes the car's, not to mention the painted brake calipers through the small spokes. The dash and seats are beautiful, though. It looks like it had been upgraded to rack and pinion steering, too. What are they asking? Near the 35k he mentions? Ouch! It does come with a one year warranty, though.

If I have to listen to him say "alright?" or "okay?" one more time I think I may pluck out my eyes with my thumbs... or at least plug my ears with them. :) Nice car, but the dude doesn't know that much about it. I guess that's not unreasonable given that they have so many different types, but it sure doesn't inspire confidence. I wonder if he's make the same types of mistakes in what looks like a TR6 behind the Spider...

Alright...no, it's not alright, those wheel looks shite, I don't understand painting a car and then putting that striping sticker thingy above the badges, or a shitty plastic pininfarina badge where it doesn't belong, even the Italian flag?? I just don't get that stuff??? Each to their own I guess
Alright and it's much more powerful from factory, really??? I always thought the big bumpers came out as an 1800 anyway??
Alright, does anybody know the chords of that guitar riff because I just didn't hear them enough
Okay that is really painful to watch
Alright still got that guitar riff stuck in my head as I am typing this.
Okay I don't normally express my opinion like this but just couldn't help it
Alright, that's me done and off to the hairdresser to get me some of that hair style (power chord guitar riff fades in the background).....
Cheers David

After all these years I finally know how to get 2 passengers in the back seat. Simply have to pull the front seats forward.

Brilliant!!

Alright!!!
Alright?
Okay? Who is that guy?

I'm pretty sure that is the same car that was on Craigslist here in Naples a couple years back. Didn't like the rims then, and they still look just as bad to me.

Alright, just checked their web site
Alright, I wanted to see what they were asking for this alright Spider
Alright, car is listed as SOLD
No price listed for the alright Spider except "looks to be around $35K spent!"
Although their "Calculator tab" shows an example of financing at an alright price of $19.990 :?
With an alright down of $1999, you can own this alright Spider for 84 alright payments of $238.45.
So my alright guess would be it sold for somewhere around $15k.
Hopefully the new alright owner joins the forum and confirms what he/she paid for the alright Spider.
Alrighty then.

Dan,
If my memory serves, which it very often doesn't as I grow older, the car was listed on our local craigslist for $15995 so you hit it spot on!!
It's all about advertising!!
It is considered advertising when one makes ludicrous and ignorant statements about something which one knows nothing about correct?
