2104 is 980kg, according to the book. add 50kg or so for LPG system. engine is a bit lighter than original, gearbox is heavier, i used banded steelies and 205/60/13's so add maybe 20 kilos there... all in all i recon just under 1100kilos.
it was my "mule" car for years. cheap to buy, good acceleration, dirt cheap bumpers, lights and stuff that gets damaged in city driving and boot big enough to fit rear axles, engines etc. also, i was not afraid to experiment on it. that's how i found out that, for example, teflon silent blocks aren't such a good idea
and that lower suspension arms need to be re-welded and strenghtened if you plan on stiffening up the suspension. i got it days after my fiat 132 go badly rear-ended by a guy driving a couple years old ford focus. he was moaning and crying about his car and i was wondering if will ever be able to find a new rear bumper...
how heavy should 1971 spyder with 1608 be? i know that it has much heavier sills, but it has no roof, half the glass less, less interior pieces...
