Intake Removal Question

I am trying to swap intakes to a single plane, but I am having some trouble getting all the bottom bolts out. Is there some sort of trick to reaching to last couple ones? I am also changing the timing belt at same time, so the radiator is out too.

The only thing I haven't tried is from under the car.

1/4 drive sockets of varying depths, short 1/4 drive extensions and a little experience working by braille is all it takes for this process.
Get any thing out of the way that you can, if it's not a huge job in and of itself.
Things like vacuum lines, distributors and fuel pumps can make this harder than it needs to be.

I use a 3/8" short socket/u-joint/extension and I can get to all of them, but you have to work by feel.

Sounds good, are you able to remove them all from the top or the bottom of the engine?

Sometimes removing the crankcase breather can help with access if you are really getting frustrated but then putting that turkey back on can be a pain too. Otherwise I concur with all the advice given.....it's done by feel and all bolts accessed from the top.

Unplug the battery first. They are very hard to do when the thing is shocking the piss out of you and welding your ratchet to the back of the starter.

This is one of those areas that when you do it once or twice you realize it's not so bad. That first time though, you get some skinned knuckles and cramped arms.

I know this is an old thread, but I now have a new issue with the removal of the intake.

I was able to get all the nuts off the studs and now have some interference prohibiting the removal of the intake. I had to disconnect and remove the throttle linkage and as I tried to remove the intake it now hits the brake booster.

Do I really have to remove the brake booster in order to remove the intake?

No, it's a game of angles
Try tilting the manifold back and forth between the fender and the engine until you find the sweet spot.
If you have a mechanical fuel pump, it might be causing some interference, depending on how the inlet and outlet are indexed.
