Re: Finally!
what does the towing manual say
Re: Finally!
I'm really interested in that limited corrosion warranty. What does it say?

Re: Finally!
They surely wanted to familiarize you with towing instructions and rust corrosion pretty quickly with that $10,000 invoice. Pretty damn expensive considering all-American muscle cars were retailing at $7200.00
Imagine the Spider appreciated in value at the same rate compared to its U.S. counterparts?

Re: Finally!
Surface rust wouldn't count. For validity it was likely that perforation would need to set in within 1 year, like Hyundai did with thir early cars. Unless rust created a safety concern.
Re: Finally!
You pretty much had to be a fool to buy one. I have the same dilemma with the new Abarths. Its really painful when I see a 2012 Abarth going for 14k. That's probably the same with most new cars though.AriK wrote:They surely wanted to familiarize you with towing instructions and rust corrosion pretty quickly with that $10,000 invoice. Re: Finally!
I have heard oil spray followed by a drive on a dusty road is actually a quite capable rust preventative
should make lots of stuff around my car rust free forever ..... drip drip

Re: Finally!
These are not perceived as collector's or specialty cars by anyone. Just another appearance package. Even real performance cars - Mercedes AMG, BMW M, Audi S, etc. - have massive depreciation. They are worth nothing after a few years because they weren't all that special to begin with.AriK wrote:I have the same dilemma with the new Abarths. Spiders could sell for high prices because there was nothing in that price range that was a convertible. What did it have to compete with, MGs? Even a complete idiot could see the MG was a relic, Triumph was no better, Porsche and Mercedes too expensive, Alfa was almost the same car (to most people) and cost more.
The Miata killed them all, rightly so, it ran and had air conditioning and a radio. Too bad it looked like a Lotus Elan e.g. your sister's car...
