Identify this bolt and win a prize!

Post by BNelsonAz »

Getting down to the last few piece parts after engine rebuild and installation. Have one bolt that looks important. Any ideas where it goes.

Prize is...uhh...you'll be the...greatest Fiat hardware identifier...of the week!

It look like the fulcrum bolt for the belt tensioner. The short end of the tensioner spring sits on that shoulder.

Are you referring to this one?

I am pretty sure I got this one right because it has a double shoulder to rest the spring on.

Not an engine part, but my first guess was the hinge bolt on the convertible top.

That was my first thought, A.J. with no size reference in the photo and he indicated it was a motor part, i opted for the tensioner bolt.

Yep sorry should have given more detail.

I appreciate all your guys help.I definitely would have had a lot more frustration and cost getting this rebuild done without it...especially you Russ!

Winner, winner Chicken-Dinner!

I said it was an engine part to be on the safe side, though I have done some other work on the little beauty. Completely forgot about changing out the seat belts.

I just checked the pilot's side, and there was a civilian bolt where this should be!

Thanks Mark!
