Any info on what the original dash wood species would have been for a 1982 Spider?

Was there a wood selection option?

A finish option?

No selection. You got whatever was installed.

82 wood for the dash was a plywood with a Formica surface. The older Spiders came with natural wood which did not hold up well over time. The Formica surface holds up exceptionally well. As others have said, there were no options. It came only one way.

Teak Formica, I believe.

I thought the 80's cars had beech wood veneer on the dash plywood peices, from the factory.

Could be, mine sanded up like formica, but I wasn't paying very close attention.
