Word of Caution !

Many here have suggested 'warming the engine' and then using a degreaser product.

Most of the degreasers are flammable. If your engine is at operating temperature, the degreaser can, and in my case did, ignite!

Be careful spraying degreaser, especially around the exhaust manifold, of a hot engine.

I would, and have, washed my engine bays with the garden hose and its typical flow and pressure, and it works fine, along with the degreaser, but I would never wash with a gas engine power washer. This will just push water in where it does not belong, and rip wiring and other small items right off of places that they do belong. No way for me.

You have to first know how to use a gas powered power washer. Mine has 4 different jets depending on what you are trying to clean. Pick your jet wisely. I do it all the time, no issues.
