i am tired of seeing the same question being asked again and again on another forum.

the heater valves being sold by all USA for fiat spiders are lada. no one in Italy is making new valve for a 40 year old limited production car!
you do NOT! have to bend or replace the pipe through the firewall! if you leave the pipe loose on the valve, and tighten it After it is through the firewall, it will straighten out on the rubber gasket.
i have sold hundereds of these valves, and no one has had to straighten or buy new pipes! if the vendors put instructions with the valves, this would not be a question. and they may be 850 type, but who gives a cr%p. people on the other forum (same people over and over for 20 years) STOP1 talking about the 850 one or where it comes from, or bending the damn pipe. we are all lucky that their are models of fiat 124's been made or parts being made, and be thankful that fiat parts vendors have found them for us.

uh, no that is not correct. The pipe won't fit through the firewall unless you remove the cover with the gasket on it and enlarge the firewall hole. This is the reason I had new pipes built with the correct bend in them

just installed lada heater valve on a 1971 spider. no bending nedeed

the weak link in this is the top of the heater radiator. I suspect when you connect loose and then tighten the pipe to the valve, all you are doing is bending the radiator unit itself at the fitting.

I had one pop on me. Makes sense it is russian now. Leak was from the valve shaft. Luckily it didn't leak when either turned on or off, can't remember. Only lasted about a year. Better than no part at all though, so I simply ordered a new one and left it disconnected. I can handle reaching under there and flipping it on or off depending on if it's a cold or hot week, until I finish the other car that still has a functioning stock valve.

we sold 132 ofthese in the last two years. no one called to say they leaked. and no one had to bend anything. if you want to pick on Russia, who can get to he space station right now? what is the most used rifle in the world? it may be the brand you got. maybe an instalation issue. and i think it is great that the new pipes are being made. just shows that fiat parts vendors keep working hard to help us.
would you rather the vendors just say the part is no longer avaialable and junk the car?

having lada parts that fit 124 is a blessing in disguise. tthere are plenty sh*** quality parts for lada on the market and it takes experience to get the good ones.

talking about heater valve, ones that are installed in lada factory last at least 10years of everyday use, so no problem with quality there. aftermarket ones? i've seen them fail ina matter of months and i've seen them last for decades
