Hard to say. Depends on which guibo would be used, how good the rear ends is, etc.toplessexpat wrote:Csaba --- wouldn't the guibo be killed before the diff went?

Re: Performance Q's!!!??????
What is the easiest way to get a Turbo onto a 1980 FI Spider? Is it best to find an OEM Turbo? What are the options?
Thanks,
Bill

Re: Performance Q's!!!??????
Finding the OEM unit is a bit challenging and no doubt the turbo will need reconditioning and is a rather large unit compare to the units now available. Mark Allison has a turbo manifold available, have a chat to him. For best results you would want to update your ECU (computer) and add an intercooler, and make some other mods (add crank angle sensor) (see Milers Mule http://www.millersmule.com/MillersMuleStore/ ) so the ECU can control spark as well. If you on a budget and want to learn about Fuel injection I'd recommend Megasquirt http://www.megamanual.com/MSFAQ.htm, otherwise there is Haltech http://www.haltech.com/ or the likeBNelsonAz wrote:What is the easiest way to get a Turbo onto a 1980 FI Spider? Wow excellent response! So nice to get specific, useful advice. I emailed Millers Mule to kick off the process, and will talk to Mark about his manifold. Here's to more PERFORMANCE! Ohhh OHHHH!
Thanks, David!

Re: Performance Q's!!!??????
Alright new questions have come up,
Is replacing the stock mechanical fuel pump be worth the replacement or would it be beneficial to bypass it with an electric fuel pump, and add a fuel pressure regulator?

Re: Performance Q's!!!??????
The only benefit the electric pump has is that you can use it to prime the carb if the car has sat for a long time.
If you get the right pump you likely would not need a pressure regulator.
